PathPACS®

Apollo PACS has developed an open enterprise PACS for pathology called PathPACS®.  It manages images from all laboratory imaging devices including gross images, micro images from cameras attached to microscopes, molecular imaging, electron microscopy, specimen X-rays, autopsy images, and whole slide scanners among others.  Pathologists can also connect to imaging devices in real time across the laboratory enterprise through streaming video.  PathPACS® has a well established interface with multiple laboratory and hospital systems utilizing standard HL7 and DICOM interface standards.

Apollo's PathPACS® enables pathology images to be included in the patient's electronic record.  It streamlines the pathology imaging process, addresses patient safety for pathology imaging, and optimizes pathology case workflow.

Apollo's PathPACS® provides the same benefits to pathology that radiology PACS provides to Radiology but addresses the domain specific needs of pathology.  PathPACS® interfaces to hospital and laboratory information systems to exchange patient data, orders, and images.  It captures images from all pathology imaging modalities providing enhanced visualization and diagnostic capability while increasing pathologist and technician productivity.

The Benefits of Apollo's PathPACS®

Apollo's PathPACS® maintains referring physician satisfaction.  Imaging has become a standard in pathology, just as in other specialities, and referring physicians expect images to be part of the patient record.  The laboratory needs to improve productivity, patient safety, quality, and case throughput by automating with PACS systems as other departments have.  This allows laboratories to improve patient satisfaction by shortening turn around time on critical diagnoses.  PathPACS® provides a strong ROI for today's modern laboratory.
